[Following her example, IV takes another moment to appreciate the view before he pulls in a chair to seat himself. Resting his arms on his lap, he faces Leia.]
[He looks outside, checking for the state of the sun, and then back to Leia. Now that they've settled down, they can take their time waiting for the main event.]
It's as high as we'll get without freezing. But writing, huh . . . Does your dream have anything to do with that?
[At the mention of today, IV glances out the window. The sun's taking its sweet time rising.
If "everything" means "everything," then that's a lot of workload Leia's taken on for the Cerealia Times. Does this colony even already have something like that? Who knows. He doesn't much care.]
Then it'll be some time before the first issue releases . . . What are you covering here, anyway?
[Leia does the same, and as she considers that, she'll make herself comfortable by leaning against the sill, as if trying to get a better look. You could already consider these front row seats, though--
So really, it probably comes off as childish.
She doesn't look back at IV when she answers. She only smiles faintly.]
I don't know about that. She's super pumped up about it, so it might be sooner than you think... Plus, it's not like the past two days haven't given me plenty to write about.
[Just thinking about it makes her tired again; but she'll let that sink in before continuing.]
She wants anything newsworthy, just to get ourselves out there.
[While she busies herself with the nature beyond, IV watches Leia. He doesn't imitate her in making himself cozier, because he's already comfortable with his back against the seat and one leg crossed over the other. The wide view also means he doesn't have to crane his neck too much to look outside.]
By that, you must mean the past two waking days.
[The shift in calendar date still makes him wary, as much as he can be. Time isn't something that can just be manipulated like that.]
Let me know when it's out. It'll be good to have something to read.
[It's... actually very encouraging to hear that: the genuine interest in his voice. Not even his correction (waking days) can take the feeling away, concerning though the implications may be. Leia can't help but turn to him, expression warm as she nods.]
Sure thing. I'll even save a copy for you with your name on it.
[Oh.]
...Speaking of which, you still owe me an autograph.
[A personalized copy from one of the staff herself? How generous. What's funnier that tugs at a corner of his lips is how they keep bringing up the autograph that, under normal circumstances, he relinquishes with ease. It's not the right timing, is it?]
And a photograph. But I'm not the one with a camera.
[She says, as if she only just remembered their photograph deal. She ponders on that a little bit more, though--she didn't think to bring her camera on the way up here, but she is palming her CereVice.]
Or are you? I bet this thing can take pictures.
[She's pretty confident, even if she's never used that feature before.]
[It takes less than two seconds to confirm. She turns it over in her hand, and sure enough, there's the lens. Of course, this says nothing about the quality of the pictures... but she's rather optimistic about it, and more importantly, impatient.
She will flip it back and quietly pull up the camera function--which doesn't take long to find. Unfortunately, though, she doesn't notice that her finger's hit "video," and a red light emits as she holds it some distance away, selfie-style.
She turns in her chair and swivels to get him into the shot, and her finger is lingering for a shutter button that isn't there.
[He lifts his chin and smiles, more out of habit of the camera being pointed in his direction than anything else. It's the kind of tender smile he gives the photographers and fans, so very far removed from his typical smirks. But it doesn't last, because habit is just that.]
[Leia notices his smile through the screen before it fades, and is pretty notably distracted for a moment--smiling herself, picture or not. He's got a nice smile, to be sure; but at the question, it finally clicks.
[VERY CAREFULLY? She prefers her legit camera, okay. This is admittedly convenient, though, so at his huffing--well, she's a little amused, too.
She glances out of the window for a moment when he gestures, and after she pans the camera over the view behind them, she quickly switches it to picture mode before finally snapping one.
She snaps multiple in fact, giving IV a chance to react at least, and she'll make various silly faces all the while with the occasional normal smile thrown in.]
You can't sign my screen either, but we'll work something out.
[In the first picture, he'll surely come out off guard with his lips parted, but at least he'll be looking into the CereVice camera. He catches on by the third snap, and, glimpsing the silly faces Leia's making, leans back into his seat with his arms folded and a wry, amused smirk. It's all about being photogenic, which he is, so he doesn't follow her example.]
I'm sure we will. Now, are you done taking pictures?
[Oh... she's getting a bit carried away. Faintly she laughs and lowers her CereVice.]
For now. You've given me some good material so far.
[She's scrolling through the pictures already. Some are better than others, of course, but she doesn't seem all too concerned. Instead, out of the corner of her eye, she keeps glancing out the window, and in the distance it looks like the first rays of sun are about to make their appearance.
They're obscured only by clouds, but she can tell it's time.]
[Similarly, IV arrives to the same conclusion after following Leia's glances. Any second now, and the floor they're on should light up and grow warmer with the rising sun. He's not cold, but it isn't exactly cozy up here.]
It's about time.
[He lets out an amused huff. They sure got a lot done while waiting.]
We rushed up here, but the sun took its sweet time.
[She starts recording again just in time to catch his words. She doesn't say anything about it, though, and simply pushes a button on the screen to switch the camera over. Instead of capturing them, it's now capturing the view outside, and she sets the device on the window sill so that she doesn't have to hold it.]
Maybe it wanted us to sleep for a bit longer. But I don't mind.
[That seems like a given without her needing to say it. IV chuckles as he leans against the chair armrest.]
Why would you? You were up even earlier than me.
[And it was you, little miss, who woke him up before his usual time. He's still tired, but there's been enough conversation and mild excitement to stir some more alertness. After this, he probably won't be able to go back to sleep, even for a nap.]
action;
[Following her example, IV takes another moment to appreciate the view before he pulls in a chair to seat himself. Resting his arms on his lap, he faces Leia.]
Do you come up often?
action;
Mostly when I need to concentrate on my writing. It's not really the "roof," but it's close enough, right?
[She said she'd make it happen.]
action;
It's as high as we'll get without freezing. But writing, huh . . . Does your dream have anything to do with that?
1/2
It's got everything to do with it.
[There's a proud grin.]
Before I woke up here, I was a news reporter for the Daily Trigleph. That was back on Elympios.

action;
When it comes to the dueling arena, I'm an easy choice.
[His popularity, especially with the women, would give any publication with his name in it a sizable viewing.]
So you're a journalist. There probably isn't a Daily Trigleph here, but you're still writing. Is there anybody to submit to?
action;
Mm, well, I met a girl named Myriam a few days ago. She's a journalist too, and she's starting up the Cerealia Times!
I jumped on board to help with... well, everything.
[Interviews, stories, articles--even pictures.]
Obviously we got a bit sidetracked... ["ho ho ho"] but I'll probably hear from her today.

Huh...]

So you found it?

The red light...]
Mm, yeah. But I think I hit record instead.
action;
That's even better, isn't it?
action;
It might be, but I can't sign a video.
[He shrugs, then gestures to the windowed view beside them.]
Well, it should be good for filming the sunrise.
action;
