[Leia pipes up, as if having forgotten about that. Defense mode is a good fall-back, isn't it? She has a lot to learn, but seems eager when she hands him back the card after one last look-over.]
Pretty neat...
What else have you got? [It's not nice to hold back.]
[And it's not wise to show everything, but he did promise her a few. The next card he hands her while taking back the first is less exciting, but he figures he'd show her the different types in person.]
You won't see mistakes like that in the pro dueling arena.
[It's not that he's criticizing her way of thinking. He's just pointing out that the scenario would be a pleasant side effect more than a direct consequence.]
[It certainly wouldn't make for a very good show. She gives a nod of understanding as she turns the card over, as if to make sure the back of it is the same (it is); then once she's satisfied, she'll hand it back again.
It's weird, being shown them one at a time. Like she's being fed spoonfuls.]
Wouldn't it be easier to let me flip through the cards?
[Mirror Force goes back to its second topmost place in the deck, and IV makes no move to pull out the third card. He fingers the edge of his half-baked deck. That's right; the tutorial didn't cover things like etiquette.]
It's bad form to look through a duelist's deck. The only time you should be seeing it is during a duel.
[...oh okay. A faint smile reappears on her face (that was easy). He's trying to make her feel special, but he probably talks this way to all his fangirls--]
[On the surface, his response seems kind of defensive, especially the way he pockets his deck. That's it?
She's probably about to say something awkward about how there's nothing wrong with him keeping them or some such, but the ice cream comes just as she opens her mouth. She spots the lady out of the corner of her eye and turns to meet her gaze as she approaches.
She thanks her as she drops off their orders and leaves.]
[IV nods in his own show of thanks as the waitress leaves. He picks his spoon up not long after Leia, his visual attention on the strawberry ice cream.]
Since you're so eager to look at them, why don't you collect a deck, yourself?
[She chomps down on her first bite and swallows a bit too quickly, wincing from brain freeze. She recovers quickly, though: totally worth it for the taste.]
Well, I'm still pretty clueless, but collecting them isn't a bad idea. [She's been considering it.] Yuzu's fairies were adorable, and all the dragons I've seen are super cool.
[Swallowing another bite, her expression lights up.]
Hey! What sorts of monsters did you like to use, IV?
[Oops. She interrupted him, and the answer isn't even particularly novel. She nods in understanding, though admittedly never saw IV as a doll kind of guy.]
Like the princess. Wow... I never knew you liked dolls.
[She wonders how much he's had to settle with his card choices here. He said it was impossible to recreate his deck, so he must be trying out some other things...]
[It is quite good ice cream, and he can see why the place is thriving despite the pricey range. He continues to take larger bites with more skill than Leia as far as keeping his face clean goes.]

action;
Here.
action;
Obviously it's not a monster, judging by the super cool meteor illustration thing.]
Ohh, a trap. That sounds useful. It would totally leave your opponent wide open, wouldn't it?
action;
The idea is to avoid getting attacked. Destroying the opponent's monsters is hardly enough to leave them wide open.
action;
[Then they do one of those direct attack things as a follow up! But at IV's level of dueling, it's probably unlikely, huh...]
action;
[It's not that he's criticizing her way of thinking. He's just pointing out that the scenario would be a pleasant side effect more than a direct consequence.]
Although it can and does happen, I'm sure.

action;
[That's news to Leia. She looks a bit shocked and of course disappointed all at once.]
Is that like cheating or something?
action;
Of course, that only applies if you're a duelist, yourself . . . But it's avoided by everyone all the same.
action;
[NOW SHE'S POUTING. And. She's just going to make that face for a while.
Where's the ice cream when you need it?]
action;
Don't look so down. I showed you what I could. You should know, both of those cards used to be in my deck at one time back in my world.
[So it isn't as though he picked at random for her.]
action;
Really? You're trying to recreate it?
action;
[Pocketing his deck, he leans back into his seat.]
I found them, so I'm keeping them.

She shrugs lightly.]
For the record, I'm glad you found them. If there are any more you don't mind showing off, you know how to find me!

The spoon is just about to touch his lips when Leia pipes up with a question. IV pauses and sets the spoon back down into the bowl.]
My last deck archetype was Gimmick Puppet. In other words, I used dolls.
[He likes them, too.]
action;
Like the princess. Wow... I never knew you liked dolls.

action;
There's a lot you don't know about me. I had a collection back home.
action;
She aggressively shoves more ice cream at her mouth while stifling a giggle. After swallowing, she's more straight-faced, but still smiling.]
Learn something new every day.
[Clearly she approves. Also there's probably chocolate on her face now.]
How's the strawberry?
action;
It's good.
[He plays with the spoon resting in the bowl, then scoops another bite up while he eyes her face.]
There's chocolate on your mouth.
action;
She takes no chances and wipes cleanly across her lips, covering both sides.]
Thanks.
[a n y w a y ...haha. She'll try to laugh it off.]
Obviously I think mine's pretty good, too. [Obviously...]
action;

For the price, it'd better be.
